Stablecoin transfer volume hit a record $1.79 trillion in June, according to BeInCrypto, citing Visa Onchain Analytics. This marks a 63% increase from May and a 125% jump compared to June 2024. The surge occurred despite a $7.7 billion decline in total stablecoin circulation — the largest monthly drop since the Terra ecosystem collapse.
USD Coin (USDC) accounted for approximately two-thirds of all transfers during the month. Bitwise noted that stablecoins settled about 2.3 times Visa's payment volume over the past year, highlighting the growing role of digital dollars in global payments.
Meanwhile, the Bitwise 10 Large Cap Crypto Index fell 15.4% in June. The report also highlighted tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) rising 50.3% year-to-date to $32.89 billion, and prediction market volumes hitting a quarterly record of $43.2 billion.
